Committee Project Update: March 2020
The Renovation Committee is continuing to meet. We launched our Capital Campaign to the public on Monday, February 10, 2020. We're so excited to show you all of the exciting changes planned for our community with this renovation. There's something for everyone on it's way and it'll improve the service you receive at Warren Public Library.
Have trouble opening our doors? Push button doors will be coming to help you enter our doors in a much easier and more efficient way. Whether you just need a little extra help, you're pushing a baby in a stroller, or just have your arms completely full of books, we're making it easier for you come on in...and while you're here, you'll have a safer, more reliable ride in our elevator along with better signage.
Working on a term paper? Trying to file your taxes? No reliable internet access at home? A faster, more reliable and more secure network is in the plans. Broadband access is a huge barrier to service in our community and WPL is committed to supporting this Warren County initiative.
Are you a teenager looking for a safe, welcoming space to study or hang out? Our new teen space will be an all-new environment in a brand new location and you're not going to believe what we've got in the works.
Just a daily library user looking for your next read? Want a quiet space to relax? Improved lighting will ensure you better see the titles on our shelves. New seating means that you can sit down and rest until you're off to the next thing on your list.
Regardless of how you use the library, the upcoming improvements that we have planned will help us evolve with the times so that we can continue to serve you, our community, better. We hope you're as excited as we are.
So where are we in this process right now? We've been working with Larson - Karle Architects on a preliminary plan. We've been talking to the community about what they need. Most importantly: We've started our quest for funding, not only in the community, but by writing grants as well.
Watch this space for future updates and check out our Facebook page for exciting updates as they happen!
